Human Resources Manager (Part-Time) - Teatro ZinZanni Seattle
About Teatro ZinZanni: Teatro ZinZanni presents a full evening of entertainment, combining cirque artists and clowns, European cabaret singers, opera singers and jugglers with live music and a gourmet five-course meal. Set in an antique jewel box tent imported from Belgium, Teatro ZinZanni is located in the heart of Seattle Center's Theatre District.
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for daily management and administration of Human Resources functions, including payroll, employee benefits, regulatory compliance, employee relations and related policies. Oversees specific administrative services (copier, cell phone) and manages the purchase and utilization of all related Business Insurance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Models integration of Teatro ZinZanni's Vision and Values in performance of daily duties and operations.
Develop and implement standard Human Resources operating procedures and systems to increase efficiency and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Implements improvement to Teatro ZinZanni's organizational processes and systems.
Input, review and oversee semi-monthly payroll.
Responsible for all Human Resources initiatives including recruitment of staff, employee orientation, in-house training, management of payroll and maintenance of personnel files. Develops and implements annual performance and salary review process. Maintains and ensures employee handbook is in compliance with employment laws.
Researches, negotiates, implements and maintains all employee benefits including (but not limited to): Health, Dental, Long Term Disability, Life/AD&D, Long Term Care insurance, tax-deferred 403(b), Vacation and Sick leave. Completes monthly remittance to local Union.
Compiles and completes all annual reporting returns for EEO, OSHA, Form 5500.
Monitors L&I and unemployment claims and verifies validity and initiates appropriate response. Advises Managing Director of trends in injury and works to resolve repetitive claims.
Develops and/or revises written policy with others in areas including, but not limited to: Recruiting, Compensation, Hiring, Termination, Performance Evaluations and Benefits.
Partner with staff and management to resolve employee grievances and mediate workplace disputes including probation and termination for both union and non-union employees.
Identify, articulate and advise senior management on human resources issues and practices that impact the mission and/or culture of Teatro ZinZanni.
Maintains accurate, organized and up-to-date employee files.
Reviews business insurance policies with Executive Director and advises of needed coverage changes as well as appropriateness of all policies.
Manages company-wide copier contracts and cell-phone contracts.
Provide an elevated level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as may be required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Essential minimum skills, education, and experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Development or Business Administration or equivalent experience. PHR certification preferred.
Five years + related experience in Human Resource Management with a progression of leadership responsibilities.
Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments
Ability to analyze problems and develop creative solutions to complex human issues taking multiple factors in consideration
Highly developed interpersonal skills with an ability to coach and advise.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals in a diverse community.
Excellent project management, multi-tasking and prioritization skills
Exceptional professionalism and ability to uphold a high level of confidentiality
Flexible and responsive to changing priorities
Computer proficiency necessary including OS 10, Word, and Excel.
WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT
Works in a general office environment. Position is primarily sedentary; must be able to regularly use hands and fingers as with a computer; must be able to regularly speak and write in English; and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Generally works a 25-30 hours per week, but may require additional hours. Requires occasional travel in metro Seattle area. Requires working throughout the office, carrying out assignments unassisted. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
